NuDoq Feedback

Welcome to the NuDoq feedback forums!

Please help us make NuDoq the best API documentation platform ever :)

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Display documentation for older versions of package

Currently, you can only navigate the documentation of the most recent version of a package, and not older versions.

I understand that reflecting each version of a package can be too expensive, so maybe provide documentation for all minor versions. Any patch release would update the documentation of its minor version. This would asume package authors follow something like semver.

    • Link to the package on nuget from the documentation page

This is a good idea, but my first peek was confusing. Might be even buggy, am not sure. And uservoice isn't exactly set up for bug reporting.

I wanted to see an example of the docs, so I searched for Nancy. The package can be found here http://www.nuget.org/packages/Nancy/

It's a full web framework that I've worked with, so I'd expect to see some of the types and namespaces I would recognize. Not so, however.

      http://www.nudoq.org/#/Projects/Nancy

I believe it is showing this project:
      http://www.nuget.org/packages/Nancy.Facebook.RealtimeSubscription/

Which is a completely different package. So it has to be a bug. Fix, plox.

      • Support Nested classes

Nested classes members are not displayed.
I know the API design is not the most discoverable, but not including those members in the documentation is not going to help with that issue.

        • Allow the community to contribute.

There a lot of ideas that would make sense. Like most of the ideas below. Resources are limited as we all know. Therefore some good ideas might never see the light of the day. My favorite one would be to include PlantUML diagrams.

            • Bug: hyperlinks going to the wrong class with the same name

ReplEngine linke in the following page going to wrong class:

              http://www.nudoq.org/#!/Packages/Simple.Wpf.FSharp.Repl/Simple.Wpf.FSharp.Repl/Simple.Wpf.FSharp.Repl.Core

              It goes to here:

              http://www.nudoq.org/#!/Packages/Simple.Wpf.FSharp.Repl/Simple.Wpf.FSharp.Repl/ReplEngine

Which is in the following namespace - Simple.Wpf.FSharp.Repl.UI

It should go to the class in the following namespace - Simple.Wpf.FSharp.Repl.Core

              Ollie

                      • Show base class and implemented interfaces for type.

When I click on a type, I want to be able to see what class it derives from and what interfaces it implements.

                        • Fix listed assembly headings

E.g. at: http://www.nudoq.org/#/Projects/Serilog the documentation below is for two assemblies (namespaces?) - the CouchDB and Glimpse sinks - but has only one heading:
                          ---

                          Serilog.Sinks.CouchDB
                          Version: 0.9.1

Serilog event sink that writes to a CouchDB database over HTTP.

                          http://www.nuget.org/packages/Serilog.Sinks.CouchDB

                          Version: 0.9.1

Serilog event sink that writes to a Glimpse tab.

                          • Collapse overloads

For symbols with many overloads (e.g. Moq's Callback, Raises, etc) don't display every single one of them in the list; collapse them into an expandable node.

                                  Support static documentation.
NuDoq is wonderful, but it can only serve as documented API reference, not static help (chm). It would be great if NuDoq could somehow display static help pages (what exactly constitutes static help is TBD).

Clicking LoadMore a hundred times on a long method list is NOT ENJOYABLE!
e.g. trying to get to Newtonsoft.Json JToken SelectTokens... gave up.
Can we have a >load all<. Or just load all, it's not actually big or expensive.

Fix method overload cross-linking. If you come across a method overload link, like
                                        Class.Method(string, int)
it takes you to a Google search rather than the appropriate documentation on the NuDoq site.
