NuDoq Feedback

Welcome to the NuDoq feedback forums!

Please help us make NuDoq the best API documentation platform ever :)

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

        • Collapse overloads

For symbols with many overloads (e.g. Moq's Callback, Raises, etc) don't display every single one of them in the list; collapse them into an expandable node.

          • Show source next to documentation

If a package contains source symbols or source server support, it is possible to retrieve the source code of the package. This means you can create something like ms reference source, which would be awesome for open source projects.

An easy way to add source server support is GitLink (see https://github.com/gittools/gitlink)

              • Unrestricted member list

Clicking LoadMore a hundred times on a long method list is NOT ENJOYABLE!
e.g. trying to get to Newtonsoft.Json JToken SelectTokens... gave up.
Can we have a >load all<. Or just load all, it's not actually big or expensive.

                • Support Nested classes

Nested classes members are not displayed.
I know the API design is not the most discoverable, but not including those members in the documentation is not going to help with that issue.

                    • Provide information for package owners

As the package author, I'd love to know why document generation for my package failed. When I found nudoq.org, I added xml to my packages and updated the package, but so far no difference. (The way how to add documentation is not described, in my previous version I had the xml files, but not listed in package.xml, now I listed them but without any visible effect)

                          • Exclude types/members decorated with [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)]

Since [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] means "don't show to intellisense" it would be great if adding this attribute was interpreted as "don't show in the documentation".

Or alternatively have some other comment based convention that allows people to hide members from the documentation.

                            • Display static help content

                              Support static documentation.
NuDoq is wonderful, but it can only serve as documented API reference, not static help (chm). It would be great if NuDoq could somehow display static help pages (what exactly constitutes static help is TBD).

Fix method overload cross-linking. If you come across a method overload link, like
                                    Class.Method(string, int)
it takes you to a Google search rather than the appropriate documentation on the NuDoq site.

                                    • Push NuDoq to GitHub so it can be iterated quickly.

Clarius has a history of posting neat projects and then abandoning them. Visual T4 is a prime example. NuDoq is a great idea, it would be nice if you could post it on GitHub so that other people can send pull requests, contribute features, etc,

We’re planning this right now. We need to make sure that the “accept PR → publish → re-parse packages” flow is seamless so that new features can be up in production quickly.

                                      • Add a way to manually refresh the docs when a new package is uploaded.

My XamlEssentials documentation (http://www.nudoq.org/#!/Projects/XamlEssentials) is stuck on my 3.3.3 package, when my 3.4 package is now available. I'd like to be able to trigger a refresh somehow, so "stuck" docs can be re-imported.

                                        • Show base class and implemented interfaces for type.

When I click on a type, I want to be able to see what class it derives from and what interfaces it implements.
